There is currently only dried and this is a sixth year crop.
The plant is a plant called Salicornia or by its Hebrew name the salt plant,
It can be used in recipes as a natural substitute for salt.
Salicornia is marketed to Europe in large volumes and distributed mainly to restaurants
In Europe (France, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium etc) and according to European standards.
A little about the plant:
1. Cultivation of silicornia was born from joint research of the Negev R&D and Ben Gurion University for the need of crops according to the conditions of the Negev lack of water, soil, weather, etc.
2. Salicornia needs a very salty growing environment. Brackish water, greenhouses with a special substrate.
3. Salicornia has only 7% sodium compared to 37% sodium in salt.
4. Salicornia combines in an excellent way with meat, fish, chicken, vegetable, and everything imaginable.
5. The shelf life of the salicornia under refrigeration conditions is two weeks.
The plant comes to us fresh from time to time and we dry it.
